How to prepare Marron Glacé, the perfect sweet for Christmas
If you love chestnuts and you are a Sweet Foodie this post is going to make you go directly to the kitchen. Today, we’ll learn how prepare “marrons glacés” (glazed chestnuts)
It’s very easy to make it but you need few days to complete this recipe.
– 20/30 chestnuts
– Spiced syrup
– Small cupcake paper
If you can´t find the syrup it’s quite easy to do. Add 200 gr of sugar, 200 ml of water, lemon and orange peel, cinnamon or vanilla.
Let’s start!! Drop the chestnuts in boiled water during 10-15 minutes to peel it better. Make a small hole before, it will be easier to take away the skin. After, put them in cold water and boil it, wait 20 minutes when the water starts to boil.
In another pan, add syrup and one by one let the chestnuts soak it during 10 minutes.
Now leave the chestnuts 24 hours and repeat the process 2 more times. (So it’s a total of 3).
And finally, we just have to glaze it! Reduce the syrup to get the glazed sugar and just drop the chestnuts inside… They’ll glazed!!
Done, you ave now delicious marrons glacés at home!! You can now share it with all your friends and family for Christmas.
