The Fira des Moll is back in Ibiza

Hi Foodies!

We always try to support local produce, that’s why we’re happy to announce that next Saturday October 5th, the Plaza des Martell and the port of Ibiza  will host the second edition of the Fira del Moll i els Peixos de Tardor, an initiative that highlights the consumption of fresh fish and seafood as well as local and seasonal products of the island. The moll de roca fish (also known on the mainland as salmonete) is characteristic for its red colour, its two beards and its delicious taste highly appreciated on ibicencan cuisine.

Activities will take place at 11:30 with the arrival and discharge of fish in the Port of Ibiza, which will be announced with the traditional brulada de corn  (old ibicencan tradition where fishermen used to announce the freshly caught fish from the sea using a seashell as a horn sound). After this there will be a parade to the Plaza des Martell, where there will be the performance of the traditional dance by Colla de Vila de Ball Pagès.

From 12h30 pm show cookings will be held by the chefs Gonzalo Arangüez of the restaurant Sa Brisa and Hideki Aoyama of the restaurant Sushiya Aoyama, followed by a tapas tasting at popular prices made with autumn fish. The day will also be enlivened with the musical performances of The Gecko Bandidos, Jordi Sanou DJ and Pin Up Sound.

Don’t miss this funny initiative that bets for a local and sustainable gastronomy that will fill up Ibiza Port.
