Relaxing cup of Café Caleta in Ibiza | IbizaFoodie
Café Caleta is an old fishermen recipe from Ibiza, for a long time this kind coffee is been drunk to warm up before heading out to the sea. It is made with brandy, cinnamon, lemon, orange, and coffee beans. Strong drink only suitable for the braves, but luckily now you can enjoy it while relaxing in beautiful cove in Ibiza without the need to embark after for a hard day fishing.
Although there are some people who relates its origin to the galician queimada, the truth is that nowadays it is an Ibizan recipe with its own right, known on the island as one of the local drinks with more personality.
-1 Lemon peel
-1 Orange peel
-50 Gr of coffee beans
-2 Cups brandy
-1 Cinnamon stick
-2 Teaspoons of sugar or honey
We put a clay pot on the fire with brandy, lemon peel, orange peel, cinnamon stick and coffee beans. We fire the brandy, add the sugar and let slowly stirring until the alcohol evaporates. It should be served very hot.
