Agroturismo Sa Talaia | IbizaFoodie
Today we discover you a small piece of paradise on the island’s west coast. Halfway between Ibiza and San Antonio, between the hills of Ses Países and Es Puig, there is a small rural hotel surrounded by centuries-old pines and junipers. We’re talking about Agroturismo Sa Talaia.
This little mansion reconverted now in a cozy boutique hotel has 12 rooms, swimming pool with hot tube, a bunch of balinese beds, and of course, an exclusive ‘a la carte’ restaurant.
Open to the public and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, this elegant restaurant has a very attentive and professional staff and a headchef, Dorota, who prepared us a whole feast, which we, of course, as good “foodies”, absolutely enjoyed.
Taking the advice of Manuel, hotel director, who kindly received us, and who we thank for his warm welcome and friendliness, we tasted dishes from the two different menus they have, the Terrace Menu, served for lunch, and the Torrada (barbecue) Menu served from 7pm, when the sun sets on the horizon and the barbecue lights on. Ready?
As starters, we savored a delicious payesa salad, made with Ibiza red potato (local and fresh produce they always bet for), bread, tomato and olive oil and an assortment of Bressaola Sandwiches that literally melted in the mouth. From the Torrada Menu, we tried Spanish broken eggs with sobrasada (delicious) and Trampó Salad made with three coloured pepper, tomato and onion, a fresh choice for the hottest days.
After this amazing start, we go to the main courses: From the Terraza Menu we chose Beef Tagliata (exquisite and perfectly cooked), Black Spaguetti with Frutti di Mare (served in a generous portion), Tagliatelle Boloñesa (delicious and with an original parmesan crunchy structure) and Pesto Fetuccini that made us travel to Italy without moving from our chair…
From the Torrada Menu we were advised to try the delicious grilled sole, accompanied by baked potatoes and vegetables and with a touch of lime that makes you simply can not stop eating it. You can taste the sea flavor on every bite and the freshness of the products that accompany it.
And we finally arrive to the sweetest moment: desserts!
Sa Talaia team surprised us with a selection of their key afters: Flaó, Crema Catalana and Chocolate Brownie. This last one surprised us specially for its texture and sponginess, although if we had to choose one, we honestly couldn’t!
And we don’t forget about the drinks… Roberto, the talented barman treated us with several mouthwatering cocktails to die for. Specially the Piña Colada and the Strawberry Mojito… Yummy.
So we highly recommend to come to this hidden gem wether to have a lazy lunch under the pinetrees or a succulent dinner under the stars, while you enjoy the mediterranean environment and its incredible peacefulness. Besides an enchanting staff that will make you feel like at home.
