The magic exists in the Hostal La Torre

Hostal La Torre located in a unique place, surrounded by nature on the outskirts of San Antonio, in Cap Negret. It is a place to relax and enjoy one of the most wonderful sunsets on the island.

Intimate, quiet, in the middle of nature and with an exquisite and careful author’s kitchen, that takes care of the fresh local product and plays with the flavors of the world, this is the restaurant terrace of Hostal La Torre; located on the top of a cliff from which you can only see the small island called “Conejera” and the best sunset in the Mediterranean.

They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner service and are open all year round, every day. Its cuisine, consisting in some touches from different parts of the world, fuses the best of each place and the flavors with more contrast. You can see the menu here.

We started the dinner with some original and unique starters that Chef Andrés Lalla prepared exclusively for us. Tempted oysters on the basis of ceviche with caramelized sweet potato and tiger milk.

We have to highlight the service, attention and friendly treatment to the client. Many of the service team are in charge in the Hostal since they it, already 3 years ago.
For the starters, they offer us a delicious Stracciatella mousse with Ibicencan tomatoes, red fruits and watercress.

We continue with a tradicional egg cooked at low temperature, battered and fried with a base of truffled potato cream and seasonal mushrooms. Personally, it was one of the dishes that I liked and enjoyed the most. The wonders of cooking at low temperature have no limit but this technique requires great precision, control of time and mastering the technique.

We arrived at the main courses and the turn of the fish. We tried a delicious grilled sea bass tenderloin, coconut milk infused in Asian aromas and cream tom yum. Tom yum is a soup originally from Thailand and it can be said that it is one of the best known dishes of Thai cuisine.

Hostal La Torre offers a varied weekday menu from 1pm to 4pm for 20€ (drinks not included). On weekends you can also taste the menu for a price of 25€. On Fridays they offer an authentic Argentinian barbecue with the best views, the perfect plan to start the weekend on the right foot.

Playing with seasonal products, they offer a creative cuisine where the most important thing is undoubtedly the quality of the product or the raw material.
They offer us to try also a dish with their meats, specifically one based on the lamb from the island: Lingillo de filo pasta stuffed with lamb confit in the Hindu style.

This dish contained in a lot of aromas, species and flavors that made it very unique. For example, the meat is served with a pineapple, raisin chutney, a sauce of mint and chive yogurt. Its being cooked for more than 18 hours, and it results in a very tender meat with a strong flavor and delicate texture that melts in your mouth.

The base of the dish was a dark lamb background that had a very powerful flavor. All wrapped in a crispy and thin filo pasta. I do not consider myself a fan of lamb but it is really the best I’ve tasted in a long time, totally recommendable.
To finish, the chef Andres surprises us with a mix of his most demanded desserts.
A sweet milk volcano, macadamia nut ice cream, a chocolate and coffee parfait.
Personally, the one I liked most was the Dulce de leche Volcano. Similar to a chocolate coulant, it is a hot dessert and an authentic explosion of flavors.
