Wasa·b a new stream of fusion cuisine in Ibiza

Part of the Amar Ibiza Group, Wasa·b wants to bring a new stream of fusion cuisine in Ibiza. Located in a privileged location next to the Plaza de Vara de Rey, owns an exquisite terrace that invites you to sit and taste the delicious Japanese food.

They also offer Take Away service and even home delivery service to the whole island, you can check the conditions here. The menu consists of 11 starters, 4 types of Sashimis, 5 types of unique tataki carpaccio, 3 tartares, Chirashi, 14 types of nigiris, Temakis, 12 different Makis, an endless number or tempura rolls, California rolls, soups etc …

Varied boxes are also available called Wasa· b box of different sizes of  that contain 10, 24, 34 and up to 90 pieces.

They also serve a wide array of Japanese beers such as Asahi beer or the traditional Yamahai Junmai Fukumitsuya Sake. If you are a fan of the classics there are also local wines, sparkling wines and soft drinks available.

We started the meal by tasting the addictive Edamame or Soybeans. It is very difficult to eat just one, so you are already warned. 😉

We continue with one of the most famous dishes of the Japanese cuisine, the Gyozas, home-made vegetable dumplings with chicken accompanied by a delicious homemade semi-hot sauce.

Both the presentation and the quality of the product are the fundamental pillars of Wasa.b’s kitchen.  The cozy terrace of Wasa·b has been gaining many fans just a few months from its opening (March 2017).

We continue with one of my favorite dishes: the salmon tartar with avocado. The freshness of the ingredients and the great creativity of chef Jian Lin (former chef of Bfor) make this apparently simple dish just perfect.

Salmon tartar

We started with the makis trying an original combination of canons, avocados and salmon. Very fresh bites and ideal for healthy food lovers. It should be noted that all the vegetables are from Ibiza.

And we just got to taste the tempura rolls, one of the most popular dishes in the restaurant. They offer us 2 different varieties: the JB tempura (salmon, cream cheese and chives) and (one of the best dishes in my opinion) The Tiger (shrimp in tempura, tataki with spicy salmon avocado and cream cheese). The crispy tempura combined with the creamy is terrific.

One of the star dishes of Wasab is the California roll of Foie Gras with mango and fig chutney. The combination of these two strong flavors harmonize perfectly creating a sublime dynamic duo of flavors.

The relation quality price is very good since for example a Wasa·b box of 34 pieces (including makis, nigiris…) costs around 45 euros.

And last but not least the sweet temptation: a delicious and innovative Nutella and banana Maki . Two of my favorite flavors together, a total success for sweet lovers.
